The coach of English Premier League club Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, confirmed that he had no problems with Donny van de Beek.

The Dutch midfielder was never able to penetrate his team’s starting XI just because there were players who were considered more prepared.

The media has been blamed by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the issue of the rift in his relationship with Van de Beek. Whereas there are a number of other players who are also familiar with the bench this season.

“Donny knows if he is not ostracized from the squad. (This situation was created) because he plays at Manchester United . If you are in the spotlight and then you don’t play then the media will talk about it all-out,” said Solskjaer.

“There is no problem whatsoever with Donny. There are other players who haven’t had many opportunities yet. He knows that it takes hard work to be able to play,”

“The most important thing is that Donny does not let his frustration have a negative effect on the team. So far he is training well,” added the Norwegian coach.

Entering his second season at Manchester United after leaving the club that educated him from a young age, Ajax Amsterdam, Van de Beek’s fate has not changed. In 2021/2022 he did not get a start in the Premier League at all.

Ignored the Netherlands Again

In the Champions League, the 24-year-old midfielder has played since the early minutes when United faced Young Boys, but only until the turn of the half. In the second half he was withdrawn as a victim of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s red card.

When facing Villarreal, Van de Beek was also forced to watch for 90 minutes on the bench. He even seemed calmed by his other colleagues after Fred was chosen by Solskjaer to enter the field in the final minutes.

As a result, the name Van de Beek was not seen again by Louis van Gaal as the coach of the Dutch national team for the party against Latvia and Gibraltar in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

He has not been called up for two consecutive international breaks due to minimal flying hours at club level.

Van de Beek is less attractive than Ryan Gravenberch, Frenkie de Jong, Davy Klaassen, Marten de Roon, Guus Til, and Georginio Wijnaldum. Even Teun Koomeiners who is still rarely played by Atalanta can still be selected.
