President of World Athletics Sebastian Coe said that his party hopes that the location of the world championship matches will be centered at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.
“The decision on who will host will be implemented in May next year,” Coe said. In 2017, Japan’s National Stadium was focused on being the centerpiece of football matches.
At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic events, the National Stadium is indeed the location of football matches.
However, until now, the National Stadium can run multifunctional not only a football stadium.
So far there have been rumors that there is a need for funding of up to 90 million US dollars.
Japan has hosted the athletics world championship twice.
First, in 1991, Japan held the world championship in Tokyo.
In 2007, the world championships were held in Osaka.
Most recently, in 2023, Hungary will host.
The location of the match is in the capital, Budapest.
